NATURAL DYES: A RAINBOW OF SILK
Explore the world of plant dyes and create a rainbow set of 6 36” silk squares ideal for scarves, play silks and puppetry.
Lecture on the sacred qualities of plant dyed silk and it's uses in a Waldorf Kindergarten classroom or for Eurthymy gowns. 10-11am

SILK DYEING INDIGO SHIBORI
Learn how to make an indigo vat and create unique patterns with the traditional Japanese Shibori style dye technique. 3 36” scarves/ or yardage provided.
Lecture on Indigo as a sacred colour with infused energetic vibration. Explore the her-story of indigo and its journey around the whirld. 10-11am

WALDORF PUPPETRY MAKING WORKSHOP
Experience a classic Waldorf puppet show with hand made silk puppets. Learn how to build a portable puppetry set for a Grimm's Fairy Tale.
Practice your puppet show and hear an early childhood teacher's lecture on these magical toys. 10-11am
$125 materials included. Bring your own special box, bag or puppet trunk to put your show in. (I use a tiny vintage suitcase for mine, found at thrift store)
MAY 21/22
BASIC 2 needle KNITTING SCARF/ HAT
This introduction into the basic knitting systems will give the maker the skills to make many simple, functional and beautiful things. The pace of completion is up to the student.
Discussion/ lecture on the craft from Handwork perspective as a therapeutic activity for children. 10-11am
This is a drop-in class on Friday from 11-1pm.
60$ materials not included but may be purchased at the workshop or brought by the maker.
ADVANCED KNITTING SOCKS/ MITTENS
Working with new design elements of ribbing, colour and pattern work on 4 needle projects. The maker will learn the steps to create warm socks OR mittens. The pace of completion is up to the student.
This is a drop-in class on Friday from 2-4pm.
70$ materials not included but may be purchased at the workshop or brought by the maker.
CROCHET
Learn the wonderful basics for crochet in freeform design. Choose a project based on your skill level: Hats, bags, scarves and more. The pace of completion is up to the student.
This class is a drop-in class Saturday from 10-2pm.
50$ materials not included but may be purchased at the workshop or brought by the maker.
INTRODUCTION TO HANDSPINNING
Enjoy learning the fine craft of drop spindle and explore the use of a spinning wheel.
Make your first yarn and begin to master the art of plying, reeling and creating useable skeins for your handwork projects.
Lecture on the her-story of the spinning craft and yarn as an ancient art. 10-11am
This class is a drop-in class Saturday 3-6pm.
