NOVEMBER
BASIC 2 needle KNITTING SCARF/ HAT
This introduction into the basic knitting systems will give the maker the skills to make many simple, functional and beautiful things.  The pace of completion is up to the student.
This is a drop-in class which is ongoing on Fridays from 1-3pm. 
60$ materials not included but may be purchased at the workshop or brought by the maker.
 
ADVANCED KNITTING SOCKS/ MITTENS
Working with new design elements of ribbing, colour and pattern work on 4 needle projects.  The maker will learn the steps to create warm socks OR mittens.  The pace of completion is up to the student.
This is a drop-in class which is ongoing on Fridays from 2-4pm. 
70$ materials not included but may be purchased at the workshop or brought by the maker.
 
CROCHET 
Learn the wonderful basics for crochet in freeform design.  Choose a project based on your skill level: Hats, bags, scarves and more. The pace of completion is up to the student.
This class is a drop-in class Thursdays 5-630 pm November 19 until December 11. 
50$ materials not included but may be purchased at the workshop or brought by 
the maker.
 
INTRODUCTION TO HANDSPINNING
Enjoy learning the fine craft of drop spindle and explore the use of a spinning wheel.  
Make your first yarn and begin to master the art of plying, reeling and creating useable skeins for your handwork projects.  
This class is a drop-in class Thursdays 630-730 November 19 until December 11. 
40$ some roving/ wool materials included / drop spindles can be ordered for 30$ each
 
DECEMBER
NATURAL DYES: A RAINBOW OF SILK
Explore the world of plant dyes and create a rainbow set of 6 36” silk squares ideal for scarves, play silks and puppetry.  95$ materials included

SILK DYEING INDIGO SHIBORI
Learn how to make an indigo vat and create unique patterns with the traditional Japanese Shibori style dye technique. 3 36” scarves/ or yardage provided.

JANUARY
FELT MAKING 2 DIMENSIONAL
Learn the traditional Scandinavian felting technique for creating beautiful flat forms.  Design a set of 4 placemats, 4 hot plates or a small seat cover/ pillow case with needle felted applique color work.  
70$ materials included

FELT MAKING 3 DIMENSIONAL 
Build on the skills from FELT MAKING 2D to create hollow form projects such as bags and hats which may be embellished by needle felted applique color work.  Add unique accessories and details as time allows.

LEVEL 1 BOOKBINDING  
Design a paper cover Coptic bound book with handmade paper.
